Carnivorous Dinner at Blue Fire

Had dinner with the usual gang at Blue Fire, Docklands last Thursday. That was my first time eating Brazilian food called Churrascaria where several kinds of meats are served in a all you can eat type of dining. I can say that if one is feeling carnivorous on a particular day, you should go to a Churrascaria restaurant.

entrees which contains pita bread and dips, salads and olives. The capsicum dip (on the furthers left) was to die for...gotto learn how to make that dip....the potato and ricotta cheese tasted a bit bland and dry for a dip while the corn relish was so so.
the only veggies we'll ever get during the whole course....love the glazed carrots. The roasted potato was drenched in some type of oil that I could not identify... cajun spiced? The corn cob was so juicy that when I bite into it juices squirted on to py's face....sorry girl... hehe
Hunger was making my hand shake...hahaha...the choices of meats are chicken, lamb, pork, beef, chorizo sausages, fish and calamarie. All the meat was marinated in different kind of spices and grilled over the fire (they even have live feed on TV so you could see what meat is being grilled right at that moment, though I do not see the point in that). I liked the calamaries and the sausages the best, they were grilled to the perfect condition (cooked and still juicy). however the other meats are quite dissapointing. The fish was quite dry, same goes for the chicken. The lamb on the other hand was quite good as I got a part that was done medium well and was still moist inside, however the second piece they gave me was very dry that i had a hard time chewing it. The beef was too rare for my liking and the knife given was not even able to cut it into smaller pieces (how do you cut through beef using a butter knife?).
Dipping sauce for the meat cuts. From left to right. My guessing would be, barbecue sauce, dijion mustard, sweet pickled onions
My desert. House cheesecake with vegetable root base and marmalade glazed top and rasberry sauce on the side. I did not expect to like the based but it was my fav part of hte cheesecake. It had white chocolate underneath it to hold it together. The marmalade glazed took off a bit of the sweet edge of the dessert but I thought it was a bit tad too bitter.
Chocolate tart with ice cream on top and chocolate sauce. So far this was the best dessert in the restaurant.Baileys and chocolate mouse. While walking back to the car...I came across this...
RUSSELL CROWE's star!!
I did not know that Australian had a walk of stars. But it was quite small as compared to the ones in Hollywood. None the less its still a star.

I would like to go back to Docklands when the sky is bright as even under the night sky the atmosphere there looks nice. Some how it reminds me of Harbour Front in Sydney. Fish and chip at the waterside anyone? Hopefully there is not many seagulls there...won't want to get lucky again.

How much information is too much information?

I would never had expected this when I signed up for a certain subject this semester....

My lecture, whom I admire for such courage, talked for almost 15 minutes on the experience of breast feeding.

No I kid you not, BREAST FEEDING.

Well, it is expected that you share your life experience in this class. But never would I imagine that this type of experience will be told during lecture. Sure we do occasionally get stories regarding how a family member's death has its effects on our life and work, and maybe even a wedding can be stressful to a student. How old am I again? Gosh. Do people here really marry so ever young? or are students here just a bit older than I think they are. And here I was thinking I'm getting old already.

Back to breast feeding. Well, seems like the lecture really enjoyed telling us her embarrassing story about how a woman's body works after giving birth. Well, she did warn the guys constantly about it. But it did seem to lighten the mood of the class as we kept laughing at her expression of her recalling her 'moments'. But still, I think that maybe this was a bit too much information especially when you tell the whole class how big your boobs swells till it leaks milk and the consequent embarrassing moment for you.

Maybe its just me, being from a conservative country does not really help with our ability to express our self. Or maybe this country's people are just too expressive?

calmness before the storm?

Things has been quite for a while..... I wonder if its a good thing.

Oh well..none of my business anymore. I'm told to just shut it away and focus on my own life. Lucky to still have friends out there who understands <3
