Life's little joyous moments

A really really (seriously) long post ... well for me that is

I know I have been hiatus for a month or so, and whats more most of my friends has flown back to the coup to spend more time with their families while here I am stuck in OZ land.

In December last year, all that was memorable was the constant outings I had with my dearest and oldest friends where we went to various places. Fond memories.

But during that time, I also met new friends on the advice of Jin. On Christmas eve, I had a somewhat pleasant dinner at Butcher's Grill at Docklands with a few new found friends.

Kimi, Jacklyn and me

Me and Carolyn

This dinner was of course due to the invitation of Miss Carolyn. A new friend I met during my constant trip down to the sleepy (maybe not too sleepy) town of Frankston. Because of her I've experience a few wild nights out in the city :P well....not really....one wouldn't know for sure.

This is what I had then. The mixed grill. In summation, nothing much to brag bout the meat choices on this dish other than the lamb chop (which was minuscule!), everything else was dry as leather or hard as a rock. The saving grace was the wine though. Even though I forgot the name of it, but I have to say that what the waiter recommended was great (according to Carolyn, I can't tell the difference between a good wine and bad as long as it is to my taste, which this wine happens to be).
Later that night, we met up with Luca (Carolyn's housemate) and went club - or disco as Luca kept saying, he is 30+ so forgive his vocab - hunting. We were all gung ho to drop by Seven but realised that it was closed when we reached there. Which Luca suggested to go to another one somewhere on Swanston St. which was also closed. The final choice was CQ which we were sure it was open thanks to Jin's confirmation. But due to the previous let downs, we ended up settling for second best Ember or was it Amber? It was late and dark and we we're fed up. All I can say is, no more clubbing for me EVER (I think...I dare anyone to change my mind).

After spending a night on Carolyn's couch for the night, Kimi invited me to join them for dinner at his place for a Christmas dinner which consist of roast lamb and potatos. Salad was made complimentary by the girls with my ingrediants after a bout of rock band at my place in the afternoon after I got back from the city. I can say...guys are getting better at cooking these days. Damn!

As for new years, I had pot luck cum barbeque at my back yard with a bunch of my friends and Susan's friends. All I can say that the age gap was very obvious but everyone manage to have fun especially Esther because she learned a new game and was up till 6 or 7 in the morning not wanting to quit the game despite her effort to stay up later still.

Since celebrating new year till now, all that I have been doing till now is movies, spending time with friends and the occasional yum cha session at night with the usual peeps. Looks like nothing change much since last year. But hopefully things will look up for me in this new year. As they say, new year new beginings.

HAPPY 2009 EVERYBODY!
